Research proposes a more cautious approach to withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment decisions

A new study, led by Dr. Yelena Bodien, Associate Director of the NICC Lab, suggests that patients who died following the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment (WLST) may have survived and regained partial independence. The research proposes that a more cautious approach is taken for WLST decisions, and calls for better reporting in research on traumatic brain injury reporting.
