Rose Marujo's first job out of nursing school was at MGH as an inpatient nurse on a surgical floor. Over her first few years as a nurse, her interest in research grew as she worked with one of the Urologists on retrospective studies for prostate cancer.
This led her to a position as an outpatient oncology nurse and into oncology research for prostate cancer. Wanting to explore other areas of research, she joined Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as the Phase 1 Clinical Trials Research Nurse for four years, then transitioned to clinical trials with biologic therapies for the treatment of melanoma and kidney cancers where she was for over 12 years. With the growing areas in research and the desire to explore areas outside of oncology, she returned to MGH in 2020 and was honored to join the NICC team.
